METRO DUBAI EXPO 2020 LAUNCH

It was a privilege to work on such a fantastic project with Prodea Group on behalf of RTA – Road and Transport Authority.

iDEA provided 3 lighting and art installations for the visitor experience which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktou‪m, Maktoum bin Mohammed, Sheikh Ahmed bib Saeed Al Maktoum CEO and Chairman of Emirates group and RTA Chairman, HE Mattar Al Tayer reviewed as part of the Expo 2020 metro update.

Inspired by the elements, the 3 customized lighting activations Earth, Wind and Fire were designed, engineered and produced by iDEA.

CUSTOM LIGHTING

SCULPTURES

Earth was designed to interact between the video content onscreen and the inbuilt LED lighting.

Wind was designed so that the structure almost looked like it was floating. The RGB light was controlled by a Grand MA lighting desk with fast moving effects implying a vivid tornado. The smoke effects placed below emphasized the colours and gave it an all-important dramatic look.

Fire was a 3.5m High x 5m diameter curved steel structure with pixel mappable LED lights.

RTA HEADQUARTER

The Roads and Transport Authority, commonly known as RTA, is the major independent government roads & transportation authority in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

It was founded in 2005 and is responsible for planning and executing transport and traffic projects, along with legislation and strategic plans of transportation in the city. It is a department of the Government of Dubai.
